International Mentoring Program
French  English

The International Office (SRI) has set up an international mentoring program. Students may join the program starting September 2019.

What is the international mentoring program?

The international mentoring program is a hosting and support service to:

  •  help new students  deal with administrative procedures in order to facilitate their adaptation, their integration;
  •  reinforce relations between students;
  •  create a feeling of belonging to the University.

The mentor has to be a student who has already spent an academic year at Université Gustave Eiffel.
Participation in the international mentoring program is free of charge.
Mentors and their mentees have to commit to the international mentoring program for the duration of the first academic semester.

Who can participate?

  • Any student enrolled at UPEM for at least one year, and ready to help other students
  • Any international student enrolled for the first time at Université Gustave Eiffel in L1, L2, L3, DUT, Master or engineering degree, who would like to benefit from the international mentoring program.

How to participate?

Students who wish to participate in the international mentoring program have to apply through the online form before 09th of September 2022 by clicking here.

What are the mentor’s missions?

During the first semester of the academic year, the mentor will bring individual help to 1 to 5 international students by assisting them in their administrative procedures related to their arrival in France and at Université Gustave Eiffel, such as:

  • Information on how the university works and on the different administrative services (campus visit, location of services and faculties…);
  • Academic support (registration to classes, timetable, methodology…);
  • Logistical support (administrative application, affiliation to French social security (CPAM), opening of a bank account, registration for CAF, transport subscription…);
  • Communication on and joint participation in different events organized inside or outside campus (student parties…).

Mentors have to:

  • participate in a training session organized by the SRI at the beginning of academic semester;
  • complete and return the mentor’s booklet to the SRI, before the 1st of December, 2022.

What are the mentor’s bonuses?

Provided that the mentor’s booklet is returned fully completed to the SRI before the 1st of December 2022, the mentor can:

  • Either be paid as a student employment (the remuneration corresponds to 20 hours of work; the payment is made during the second semester of the academic year);
  • Either obtain ECTS, if a specific unit called  Elément Constitutif de l'Unité d'Enseignement d'Ouverture (ECUEO) is included in his/her curriculum and if the international mentoring program as an activity is positively assessed and validated.

Depending on the assessment of the mentor’s booklet, the jury is free whether to grant the planned bonus.
