The procedure "Studying in France" (CEF) only concerns the individual candidacy of foreign students holding foreign diplomas (outside the EU, EEA and Swiss confederation) wishing to register for the first time in a French university.

You must not additionally apply via the Université Gustave Eiffel enrolment application. For these countries, ONLY the CEF procedure makes it possible to obtain a visa. Any other application will not be processed.

Translation of your titles, diplomas and documents:
You must have your documents written in a language other than French translated into French.

You must apply via the Preliminary Admission Request (Dossier d’Admission Préalable - DAP) - green file - from the three choises you have made among universities.
Calendar
1st October 2021: removal of the file by mail or at the SRI
Before December 15th 2021: files request by mail
December 15th 2021 : the deadline for the submission of the complete file by the candidate to the SRI office
Monday January 10th 2022: language test TCF DAP at UPEM
From 1st March to March the 30th 2022: study of the files by the pedagogical committees
Application details
As part of the DAP procedure:
- The candidate can choose three universities;
- The candidate must have his documents translated into French by a sworn translator, for example in Paris: http://www.cetiecap.com/
- The answer provided is only valid for the year mentioned on the file;
- The candidate must take the TCF DAP exam, except for:
-Nationals from a country with French as official language (27 states in addition to France),
-foreign students from French bilingual sections,
-holders of the DALF (Advanced French Language Diploma) C1 or C2, DELF B2, TEF with at least 14/20 in the written expression test.
Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF): Checking language level
This exam is mandatory in order to judge the level of written expression and oral comprehension of the student. The TCF certificate is valid for 2 years.
During the registration, applicants must pay 73 € * (price for the year 2020).
Sessions for the Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF) are organized by universities. Université Gustave Eiffel organises a TCF exam on Monday, January 1st, 2022.

Following the registration and the payment on the France Education international (CIEP) website, students are summoned by the end of January to take their test. This test lasts 2h25, and is divided into two parts:
oral comprehension test (20 minutes), proficiency in language structures (20 minutes) and written comprehension (45 minutes)written expression (60 minutes)
In order to pass the test, the candidate must obtain a number of points higher or equal to 300/699 (level 3). Passing the test does not mean that the candidate will be accepted, but that his / her file will be examined by a pedagogical committee.

The duplicate of the certificate shall be inserted in the DAP file, the original is given to the candidate.
On the France Education international (CIEP) website there is a page devoted entirely to the TCF for the DAP. The candidates will find all the information relating to their test (example of tests, registration calendar, duration of the tests, cases of exemption, bibliographical references ...).
